While over-looked in favor of the , they are a good starting meat collector. Also they are useful in the hunting scenario because their secondary attack has very good knockback and when used from an uphill position, it is valuable for keeping more dangerous targets from hitting you while still dealing damage.

Guardian

While overshadowed by other mounts, Carno's make excellent guardians, especially with Tames. Their size relative to damage allows them to dish out excellent base damage with high precision, something 's lack.

Leech Hunter

Due to its head being far from its legs, have trouble attaching to a Carnotaurus. It is recommended to use third person while hunting, so you can see the without the Carno's head blocking your view. be wary of the several predators within the swamps such as the .

Meganeura Hunter

Being able to swat them out of the sky with one blow of its massive head, Carnos make excellent bug hunters.

Cave Hunter

Despite being outclassed by the Baryonyx this creature is still one of the best creatures on the ARK to explore the many caves. It can fit in most of the entrances and can get to the artifact quickly and effectively (Level up and ).

Reaper Killer/Cheap Impregnation Dino

With the new addition of a bleed attack, Carnos can be an effective way of draining a reaper queen’s health without the use of more advanced materials such as pump-action shotguns. This way you can be impregnated by a reaper queen at a lower level, although keep in mind the reaper queen’s and your Carno’s health. (Level up )
